How can I tell if there are hidden cameras in my house?
Our landlord seems kind of not trustworthy to me. I'm guessing if there are hidden cameras it's in the smoke detectors and/or bathroom vent/fan. (We've lived here for 1 & 1/2 years.) Now the bathroom vent/fan is on the wall (Too high to reach or look in) right in the shower. I've never lived anywhere with it above the tub. It would be perfect for some creep to put a hidden camera in there. >_< Ugh it's really creeping me out! I've suspected for no real reason hidden cameras since the first day living here but just ignored it thinking I was being paranoid. But i just can't get it out of my mind lately...

Wow. Either you have to become a saint and forgive this guy while making him stop doing what he is doing or leave him. That is a complete violation of privacy and the sanction of marriage. I do believe it is a crime technically but I don't think any law enforcer would work hard to press the charges.

john is a good friend of mine, but I think there's something wrong with him. He likes a girl who is his friend, and she doesnt like him back. He suffers cause he's constantly afraid of losing her as a friend. He doesnt love her anymore, but she doesnt believe him and she's mad at him, somehow.
Mad at him cause in a period of 2 months or so, sometimes he accused her of things she would never do to him, such as avoiding him, doing things referred to him, doing things to hurt him. He would start to attack her verbally, accusing her of things and even when she proved that those things were not true and that she would never do anything to hurt him he continued to support his own beliefs, while being very paranoid and playing the victim. But then, after a while, it's like he woke up, understanding that what he did was not right and wondering how he could accuse her....cause he never thought bad things about her, he's always appreciated her and loved her, yet now he was accusing and attacking her.
"It was like waking up and being confused after a bad nightmare, or it's like another person possessed me and controlled me and then when it left, I was back to normality" he said to me one day. He feels very guilty after these episodes, it happened 3 times and now she's tired of this. He would like to explain this to her one day but he fears she won't believe him or find that it's just an excuse, but he blames himself and he's being killed by self-blaming.

Oh, he is 17, 18 in May, and he's got obsessive-compulsive disorder. I'm afraid he's psychotic. He suffered from hallucinations when he was about 12-13 or maybe they were supernatural events, he still doesnt know. He used to have recurrent nightmares involving dead people, and he smelled a strong smell for two nights, as if somethng was burning, but then he got up and checked the house and nothing was burning and when he turned the lights on the smell went away. He used to hear noises at night like someone was punching on the walls but when he woke his bro up he didn't hear them anymore....and if they were real, his bro would hear them,too, cause those noises were very strong, he says, and if they were real his family would wake up and hear.
He also had delusions about mirrors and he was under therapy of a psychologist for one year, where he improved cause he started to hang out with people and be less paranoid in general.

I'm afraid im going crazy.. Why is this happening?
Hello everyone.. my name is Chelsea and I'm 16 years old.. Last year i was hospitalized for clinical depression, and nothing like this was happening at the time.. I still suffer from clinical depression, and am currently not receiving any help for it. Around the time November 2008, I started having small hallucinations, which have increased to more screwed up ****... Till this is the stuff I go threw.. (please bear with me.. I know this sounds absolutely crazy, which is why i havnt told anyone yet)

Lately I have had a substantial amount of difficulty distinguishing what is reality and what is my imagination. In other words if I have a dream and remember it, then a few days later I may think the dream actually happened. Also If I think a thought, then I may later believe that the thought is real. Example; If I was upset one day, and thought about what it might feel like to have my mother say she wan'ts me dead, than later I will actually be convinced that my mother told me she wanted me dead. It's as if my imagination creates a memory for me which I interperate it as real. So now it has been getting harder and harder to tell which is real, and which is my imagination.

I have had a increasing amound of Hallucinations, both visual and audio.

For visual hallucinations, I constantly see things moving in a wavey, expanding, getting closer, or getting farther away motion. Also there is times where I can see the whole room shaking, as if there is a earthquake occurring, and im the only one who can see it. Other things I see are objects moving. I can look at my computer chair and it will be facing in towards my desk, then it will slowly start turning to face me, and I am positioned behind it. But the weirdest visual hallucinations are those where I see people, I can see people in the corner of my eye, with a quick glance, but then when I turn to look again, they are gone. Other times, when my TV is turned off and my bedroom light is on, reflecting off the TV, I can see a mirrored image off my TV, ofcourse, but in this mirrored image there is always someone sitting behind me, on my bed. While I am sitting at my computer, it is very stranger and incredibly frightening.

For audio hallucinations, I hear things that aren't actually being said. Example; In class, I may hear the teacher say there is a test coming up. Then I will ask the people around me if the teacher said when the test was, and they would say that the teacher never said there is a test. Another thing is, it is almost as if I hear people's thoughts. Which is impossible I know, but it's just the best way to describe this. I can be looking at someone, who isn't speaking, but I can hear them talking to me, there voice is so real, yet there mouth doesn't move. The things they say are never pleasant. Things that would always upset someone. At times when I have just been upset by someone, and im alone in my room crying, (so when im really emotional) is the only time where I can hear a voice when no one is around. Crazy as it sounds, but yes a voice is in my head telling me to harm myself, trying to convice me and say just how worthless I really am.

Delusions are kicking in, I get into these moods where I feel watched and followed. (Does this happen to everyone?) For instance, Stuffed animals I have received as gifts I cannot keep out on my bed anymore, I am so convinced there there are hidden cameras in them, so I keep them in my desk drawers. I get under the impression that the people on TV can see me, and that photos on my walls watch me. I can never have my webcam plugged in 24/7 and facing me, because im afraid that someone at all times can see me threw it. And sometimes, I feel like the whole world can see me, that there watching me. Like I'm there experiment, they want to push me in everyway to see how I react and when I will snap.

I hate how crazy this all sounds, but this is what happens to me. and ****..

Okay, I am going to give a few different points of views because I am like that. The first thing that popped into my mind when I read this was schizophrenia. Now I am not a doctor and I have only taken one psychology class where I learned briefly about schizophrenia. You being paranoid, wanting to hurt yourself, and seeing people who you think are spying on you are classic signs of this disorder. The second thing that came to mind was a spirit. An evil spirit. I say this because by hurting (or wanting to hurt) yourself the intent is to sabotage authority; e.g., your parents and/or God. This is what an evil spirit would want. Firstly, I would suggest praying. If you do not know how then just go to a quiet place and say what bothers you like you would your father. Secondly, I would suggest seeing a licensed psychologist. You have to talk to your parents. You need thier support and if you lose grip with reality then you are in danger of hurting others or yourself and you do not want that. Either way pray. Pray for forgiveness, healing, and deliverance from whatever the affliction is that is coming against you. If you ask for forgivness and healing it will happen if you truly believe. Just surround yourself with his presence (the holy spirit) by praying for him to. I know you feel like you are losing your mind but you having to stay strong. If you ever want to just talk or pray email me and I will do what I can to help you. I will pray for you.

How can I help my abused nephew?
My brother is currently living with the mother of my nephew (6 yrs old). They are no longer in a relationship but still live together because she cannot afford to move out. She also has 4 other guyren that also live in the house (from a previous marriage). She is completely crazy. She goes into rages where she screams, cries, screams and breaks things. She does all this in front of the guyren. She breaks cell phones, dishes, doors and walls. She pulls her own hair out. She uses profanities constantly. She sends my brother 100's of text messages when he is not at the house. She has also threatened to commit suicide. She always blames my brother for her behavior. She tells him things like "you never loved me. no one loves me. no one cares." She says things to my nephew like "it's nice that you get to have fun, I never get to have fun. No one loves me". She'll tell my nephew that his father is mean and wants to guynapp him. I guess you get the jist. Her other guyren show signs of abuse. Her older son who is now 18, has been pooping himself for 6 years or longer. It falls out of his pants. He hides it in his bedroom and in heat ducts. One of her daughters, who is 13, wets the bed every night.

My brother says he wants them out and wants full custody. He said he cant kick them out because they have no where to go and doesnt want to make it worse for my nephew. He said he cannot do anything until he has proof of paternity (even though he is on the birth certificate). I tell him he needs to act faster. Every day that goes by, he is also responsible for not doing anything.

Her other guyren hate my brother. They blame him for their parents break up and their real father tells them not to do anything my brother asks. Their mom has never stepped in and always would say she doesnt want to be put in the middle. She even tells my brother he is not allowed to tell them what they can or cannot do. They are also destructive and break things in the house. With all this going on, the mom leaves all the guyren with my brother or alone in the house. He keeps his video camera in front of him when home alone with them because they tell him their father will find a way to get him in trouble. She is on year 5 going to school for a 2 year degree and works two jobs. I'll watch my nephew, at most, once a week and she screams at my brother that I'm trying to replace her as my nephew's mother.

I'm mad at my brother for not taking action. Is he right to wait for paternity? I've offer for him and my nephew to move in with me until she moves out. I told my brother that even though they broke up, they still are in a relationship as long as they live together. She freaks out at any thought of him seeing someone else. She's threatened to kill herself over that as well.

I'm so upset over this. Should I call CPS on them? I so very much want to!!! I know my brother is afraid she will get custody since she is the mother. I would think any councilor who interviews my nephew would see recognize the abuse. My nephew tells me all the time he doesnt want to go home and that he is always afraid of his mom. I'm very careful not to ask questions. I only ask him general questions like "how's it going at home?" I never say anything about his mother to him. For a while he would pick up almost everything in my house and ask me if he could have them. He would say that he wants to make his house nice so his mom would be happy.

This is a total nightmare.

Your brother has joint custody, period, he is the paternal father and no one is contesting that. The burden of proof is not on him, and even if it were, authorities or attorneys need only call or send for the birth certificate. His paternity is not in question.

It sounds like the mother has borderline personality disorder and the guyren have suffered enormous abuse in the past from what you say.

One problem is that your brother has allowed the mother and all her guyren to reside with him without ever reporting her or seeking help for the guys. He can and most likely will be held liable for negligence if the family is turned in to CPS. Then your nephew is headed for foster care. You can get yourself certified and take him as a family member but it's time consuming and you better get started.

Remember that CPS has a quota to fill and many programs they need to make use of; once your nephew is in the system your brother will have to perform continually for them in order to begin to visit his son. He will have to have psychological testing, IQ testing, a psychiatric evaluation, and counseling at a minimum.
